Manhattan, New York – April 22, 2019 – Since It’s implementation in 2018, the NeoDocto’s initiative has been significant and sustained improvement in Ischemic heart disease among the people of Punjab state and potentially reduced risk of IHD (Ischemic Heart Disease).
Ischemic heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the world for 15 years and sadly, it is the highest in the state of Punjab, India with 5758 cases reported. Ischemia means a reduced blood supply. It is a disease that is characterized by a reduced blood supply to the heart. It is like a blockage in the coronary arteries (and the coronary arteries supply blood to the heart muscle).
According to a report by Global Burden of Disease Study, Ischemic heart disease is the largest single cause of heart related death in the World. 26.6% of all deaths are caused by Ischemic Heart Disease followed by cerebrovascular diseases.
The rate of disease burden which is also known as Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALY rate) from ischemic heart disease is 17. 08 percent for Punjabis against the national average of 8.66 percent. This figure is alarming. This is the reason NeoDocto has set out to collaborate with the state government of Punjab to reduce the risk of Ischemic Heart disease.
