From throwing parties with Pussy Riot and Rolling Stone, to Strategic Parterships with key players in Web3, The Canvas is becoming a cultural force in NYC and beyond.

The Canvas, a rapidly growing retail platform focused on supporting independent creators addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, has expanded to support digital creators with its Web3 gallery in New York’s Oculus at the Westfield World Trade Center. Founded by Devin Gilmartin and Steff Vermeesch, The Canvas 3.0 opened with a strategic partnership with WHIM, a high-tech “digital canvas” allowing screens to be programmed and controlled through their app from anywhere in the world. You can see the inside of the space here.

The Canvas 3.0 has collaborated with Open Sea, Rolling Stone, Pussy Riot, Transient Labs, Superchief Gallery, Trident, Worldcoin and more over the past few months. A variety of Web3 sponsors have committed to paid sponsorships and partnerships in 2023.

Open Sea, the first and largest NFT market place presented their curated Pride Perspectives NFTs at The Canvas 3.0 Web3 gallery during Pride month. The exhibit featured LGBTQIA+ artists and their magnificent collections. The vibrant and diverse IRL NFT gallery acted as a celebration and testament to the incredible creativity and talent within the community.

The Canvas also recently expanded to the heart of Wynwood, the creative and technical hub of Miami. The Canvas is taking over a 5,000-square-foot space, previously occupied by Solana Spaces, in a building whose tenants include Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund. The new store combines The Canvas’ multibrand fashion and lifestyle retail operation with The Canvas 3.0 Web3 concept, partnering with WHIM and Transient labs to bring the Web3 gallery of the store to life.

Current active Web3 partners include Superchief Gallery NFT, a bi-coastal gallery curating the digital exhibit for shows for a select number of dates throughout 2023, and Transient Labs, “The premier innovation platform for Web3 creators, projects and ecosystems around the world.”

Trident, a recently-launched GameFi solution, also partners with The Canvas 3.0, hosting community events, activations and meet ups at The Canvas locations. Trident utilizes cryptocurrency in a novel fashion to enhance the in-game economy, freedom, and privacy of the user. Trident’s CEO, Joshua Ayad, said it shares The Canvas’ vision of making physical and digital worlds more compatible.

And of course, WHIM, the digital-canvas maker is an in-kind sponsor. WHIM provides all of The Canvas 3.0 canvases without cost as well as the furniture to outfit the WHIM lounge. Further developing this relationship with WHIM’s CEO and CPO will be critical to scaling The Canvas 3.0.

The Canvas is also hosting an “Orb” for Worldcoin, Sam Altman’s newest venture determined to scan the iris of every human in the world in order to create “proof of personhood”, a concept they assert will be critical in a world of rapidly developing artificial intelligence.

The Canvas 3.0 is rapidly growing and shaping digital creation spaces in real life through these partnerships. The Web3 galleries and retail spaces help fashion and digital creators reach larger audiences in unprecedented ways.
